Our hands-on workshops and guided adventures offer unique opportunities for everyone, whether you're looking to inspire your community, enrich your curriculum, or make core memories and a lasting difference. From guided hikes to team-building activities, conservation focused-workshops, and more, we offer a variety of immersive experiences for all ages!

Kayaking & Paddle Boarding
Duration: ​2 hours | San Diego Bay
Capacity: Up to 30 participants | $75-$125 per person*
Get out on the scenic waters of San Diego Bay and make a splash! After a brief tutorial to get familiar with the basics and safety, experience single or tandem kayaks, paddle boards, or groups on a Megalodon (a giant paddle board that holes up to six people at once!), and enjoy the calm waters of the bay while learning a little about the bay's unique marine ecology.

Monarchs & Milkweed Workshop
Duration: ​2 hours | Indoor Venue
Capacity: Up to 30 participants | Starting at $350*
Hosted at an indoor venue of your choosing, this educational workshop will be about all things Monarch Butterflies! From conservation and native milkweed seed collection, to creating your own Monarch and pollinator-friendly garden and activities for little ones, this event is sure to be a hit for all ages!

Nature Illustration Workshop
Duration: ​2 hours | Crestridge Ecological Reserve
Capacity: Up to 20 participants | Starting at $350*
Connect with nature through the art of field sketching and watercolor! Guided by our Education Coordinator and certified science illustrator, Ashley, learn the basics of illustration through sketching, plein air watercolors, and other materials. Explore the trails together to capture the beauty of Crestridge's flora, fauna, and landscapes on your own page and through your own piece of art!

Bats, Birds, & Blooms Workshop
Duration: ​2 hours | El Monte Ecological Preserve
Capacity: Up to 30 participants | Starting at $350*
Dive into the world of conservation in Lakeside, CA, learning about our projects supporting the Coastal Cactus Wren, Townsend's Big-Eared Bat, Pallid Bat, and more all while supporting San Diego's unique biodiversity! Tour the premises and get an up-close look at our bat hotel that can house up to 3,200 bats.

Scavenger Hunt
Duration: ​2 hours | Crestridge Ecological Reserve
Capacity: Up to 70 participants | $35-$125 per person*
Venture through scenic trails while discovering local wildlife, native plants, and hidden natural wonders through this fun, interactive scavenger hunt! Perfect for people of all ages, this engaging experience combines friendly competition with nature education - offering a memorable way to connect with each other and the environment.

Guided Chollas Lake Hike
Duration: ​2 hours | Chollas Lake Park
Capacity: Up to 25 participants | $50-$125 per person*
Discover a hidden oasis in Southeast San Diego and enjoy a scenic 2.2-mile loop around Chollas Lake Park! This mostly flat, beginner-friendly hike is perfect for groups of all ages and experience levels. Enjoy fresh air, trek through a Eucalyptus forest, and beautiful views of the lake, with a chance to spot migratory birds with binoculars (provided). Our naturalist guide will also share insights on local wildlife and the importance of creating inclusive access to nature for all!

Outdoor Education Field Trips
Duration: ​3 hours | San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge
or Crestridge Ecological Reserve
Capacity: Up to 40 students | $1,500 per trip*
Immerse your students in nature and watch them transform into eco-scientists! They will explore local habitats while learning about ecology, watersheds, water quality, adaptations, and how what happens upstream affects coastal environments downstream. Hands-on, engaging, and aligned with Next Generation Science Standards, each field trip is brimming with discovery!
